Pattern in Repeat I: A 4 week course with Kate Zaremba

Saturdays 10am-11am EST

March 1st, 8th, 15th, *22nd

In this 4 week course we will learn all about pattern layouts and terminology used when creating patterns for wallpaper and textile design. We will look at patterns, and processes for creating patterns, throughout history and art. We will practice analogue pattern making techniques using drawing, painting, paper-cut out, and block printing. We will primarily be working on paper throughout this course, however in our final class you will be hand printing on textiles. You are invited to bring your own textile item for printing on, however, fabric will be provided, including all materials and printing and pattern making supplies needed during the course. Each student will receive a copy of my pattern in repeat booklet during the first class.

Course fee $250

*Each class is 1 hr long with the final class (March 22nd) lasting 2 hrs from 10am-12pm
